We decided at the last minute to drive to Michigan for Christmas, and we had a surprisingly pleasant voyage...we were impressed with the hills of Tennessee and Kentucky and stopped in Louisville to stay in a hotel so we all could have a break and a swim. Once we arrived, Mark & Laina got to meet Wesley. My mom loved reading Simon the Christmas story while acting it out with the creche. We opened gifts and I'm not sure if Mark, my dad, Daniel or Simon enjoyed Simon's toys the most...they all had so much fun with all the "guys," helicopter, whale rescue, coast guard ship, trains...followed by a wonderful meal with family friends. Simon had decided that he wanted to bake a cake for Grammy & Grampy as their Christmas present, so Daniel helped him with his masterpiece and in the evening, Simon had fun with his artwork and Wesley got to enjoy a kitchen sink bath with Grammy and Grampy.
