We've had a great December, trying to start some family traditions. We started out by visiting Garvan Woodland Gardens annual light display, which was amazing. As we strolled through the woods and millions of lights while listening to Christmas carols, there was a slight chill in the air and it definitely set the stage the season. We did our Advent calendar where Simon got to find a Reese's peanut butter cup every day, and he got the idea that we were anticipating something exciting...presents. We baked lots of cookies, listened to Christmas music, made a gingerbread house, watched Christmas TV specials and talked about presents and being a nice good little boy. Simon was so looking forward to visiting Santa, but when it came down to actually meeting him and climbing up onto his lap, he broke into tears, but he was able to quietly mutter between sobs that he wanted a blue airplane (couldn't get the camera to click and catch the moment).
